1. A second book featuring a HOLOCAUST love story between Florida-based HERMAN AND ROMA ROSENBLAT, "Angel at the Fence", was cancelled on Tuesday after the publisher found out that the couple's amazing tale was not true. For over a decade, Herman Rosenblat, 79, told newspapers, magazines and twice appeared on the Oprah Winfrey TV show to tell the story of how he met his wife-to-be when she threw apples and bread to him over the fence of a Nazi concentration camp. He said they met again by chance on a blind date in New York years later, fell in love and got married.
But under scrutiny from scholars writing in The New Republic, Rosenblat admitted this week that he invented the love story, prompting Penguin Book's to cancel publication of his memoir due out in February. Lerner Publishing's President Adam Lerner in a statement said:
"We have been misled by the Rosenblats." Lerner said the company had recalled the book from the market, cancelled all pending reprints and was issuing refunds on all returned books bought since its publication in September.

George Washington University officials said a Jewish student who complained about swastikas showing up on her door put them there herself. The student lives in Mitchell Hall, where half a dozen swastikas had shown up on her dorm room door in the past several weeks. University police set up a hidden camera. They said the girl admitted responsibility Monday.

The Timeline Goes as Follows:
"Oct. 23 - SARAH MARSHAK, a Jewish freshman, reports a swastika drawn on the whiteboard mounted to her Mitchell Hall door." (i.e. she started the whole thing.) In the next four days, two more are drawn, each progressively larger in size.

"Oct. 27 — Transfer student Erica Tanne, a Jewish sophomore, finds the symbol drawn on the whiteboard mounted to her residence hall door. Tanne lives in Potomac House." (Now everybody wants in on the act.)

"Oct. 28 — A swastika is drawn on Marshak’s door for the fourth time.

"Oct. 30 — Marshak reports a fifth swastika. In eight days, seven swastikas were found on campus: five on Marshak’s door, one on Tanne’s door and one on a fence by GW Hospital." Eventually there are a total of nine Swastikas drawn around campus. Of course, the blacks have to get in on the act. Her story of swastikas being daubed on her body during a brutal attack on a Paris train caused outrage in France. She claimed that Arab and black youths had also slashed her clothes and cut a lock of her hair. But Ms Leblanc's lies were uncovered when no witnesses came forward and closed-circuit video cameras failed to show evidence of the attack in the train station on 9 July.
She later said she had ripped her own clothes and drawn the swastikas on her own stomach with her boyfriend's help.

A student has admitted to his role in the etching of swastikas inside and outside of a Jewish student's off-campus apartment Friday night.In a written statement to The Quindecim, JULIAN REES said he carved a swastika on Shira Zemel '09's bathroom wall. Other swastikas were found outside of her apartment door and down the hall near elevators. Rees is active in campus life. He is a member of judicial board, confirmed Scott Eckhardt, director of Community Living. He also is the president of the Goucher Ambassadors, confirmed Lynn Alonso, who is a receptionist in the Office of Admissions.

6. A criminal profiler who analyzed threatening letters sent to a Manhattan judge has concluded that the judge wrote them herself. Since Acting Supreme Court Justice MARILYN DIAMOND reported the first of the threats three years ago, she has been guarded from her upper East Side home to the courthouse in lower Manhattan and from there to her weekend home in Westport, Conn. In some of the letters, the writer called her a "pig," the sources said. Many letters were anti-Semitic. Some featured a roughly scrawled heart with a dagger drawn through it. All of them threatened her life. Pierce told investigators he has "no doubt" Diamond was writing the letters herself.

7. PARIS, Aug. 30, 2004 - The police arrested a Jewish former employee on Monday in connection with a recent arson attack on a Jewish community center here, suggesting that the attack was not a neo-Nazi act as originally assumed.
If the 52-year-old man, who was notidentified, is found guilty of setting fire to the center, it would be the third case in less than two months in which apparently anti-Semitic acts turned out to be the work of disturbed individuals seeking attention, rather than of neo-Nazis or others pursuing an anti-Semitic agenda.

Two rabbis and another Jew pleaded guilty to money-laundering charges for funneling more than $3 million in Colombian cocaine proceeds through a Brooklyn synagogue and yeshiva. The perpetrators were charged with being part of a group of Orthodox Jews who laundered the $3.5 million from Colombian and Dominican drug dealers in 1995 and 1996.
By channeling the drug money through the Eitz Chaim synagogue and a Jewish school, the Bobover Yeshiva, as well as another Jewish institution, the Chaim Shel Shulem, all located in the heavily Orthodox Jewish Borough Park section of Brooklyn, they were able to move the money to Swiss bank accounts and then back to the dealers. RABBI MAHIR REISS, 47, and his brother ABRAHAM REISS, 48, pleaded guilty in Brooklyn federal court. Rabbi Reiss faces up to four years in prison, while Abraham Reiss faces three years.

Two Israeli citizens were arrested Tuesday night in Manhattan on drug possession charges after police seized more than a million Ecstasy tablets, the largest drug bust in New York City history. Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik announced Wednesday that DAVID ROASH, 25, and ISRAEL ASKENAZI, 28, both of Tel Aviv, were being held in Queens Criminal Court pending drug possession charges. The two face eight and a half years to life in prison if convicted.

5. HA'ARETZ, JUNE 3 2009

Two elderly Israeli men were arrested by British police Tuesday night for attempting to smuggle 12.5 tons of marijuana into the country, the Sun reported on Wednesday. MOSHE KEDAR 81, and his younger accomplice MORDECHAI HERSCH, 67, were arrested after Kedar was reportedly caught on surveillance video receiving a cell phone and $10,000 cash from members of a London drug gang.

AN international money-laundering ring run by New York Hasidim washed millions of dollars in cocaine proceeds for the Colombian cartels, prosecutors disclosed yesterday. RABBI YEHUDA KOLKO was arrested in New York City following a long-term investigation, police said.He was charged with four counts of sexual abuse, including two felony counts, and endangering the welfare of a child. The alleged victim was in the first grade during the 2002-03 school year.

"A garbage truck driver with a part-time job as a synagogue sexton in a town in the center of the country was convicted yesterday by a Jerusalem District Court for sexually assaulting children who went to synagogue to pray with him ...
